It is with deeply saddened hearts we share that in in the early hours of Saturday, March 30, 2024, we lost Kurt Edmund Rudolph, our beloved son, brother, uncle and cousin. Kurt was born July 18, 1965 in Alliance, Ohio. He grew up in Clearwater, FL, graduated from Pinellas Park High School in 1983, and went on to graduate from the University of Florida in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in History. Kurt was brilliant. Known for his keen sense of humor and love of books, he read everything from military history to Tolstoy, to Hemingway and Emily Dickenson. He loved science fiction, especially the original Star Trek series and never tired of streaming old episodes of M*A*S*H. He was an expert model builder, specializing in WWII military detail and also an avid saltwater fisherman. He was especially fond of the Florida Keys and spent many days fishing and camping near Islamorada, Marathon, and No Name Key. Loyal, generous and devoted to family, he taught his nieces and nephews to juggle, fish, work with their hands and enjoy a good anchovy or Vienna sausage— he appreciated and preferred simple things, traditional things. He loved animals and they loved him… He named all his cats Kitty. Gone way too soon, Kurt will be missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his mother, Nancy Rudolph, his sister Ann Rudolph-Kite, his brother Mark Rudolph and his sister-in-law Kim Evans-Rudolph, nieces Grace Kite and Joy Kite-White, nephews David Kite and Cameron Rudolph and many special aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his father, Robert Edmund Rudolph. Service time is yet to be decided; Kurt will be laid to rest in the Florida Keys.
