Kenneth “Ken” Michael Myers, 89, of Longwood, Florida, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 peacefully in his sleep. He was born to the late John and Anna (McGrath) Myers in Baltimore, Maryland; brother, John Myers (deceased). He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jane L. Myers; son, Michael K. Myers (Granddaughter Madeline) and daughters Victoria M. Holder (Husband Marc), and Joanna L. O’Connell (Husband Bryan, Granddaughter’s Erin and Clare, Grandson Aidan).
Ken graduated high school, and served in the U.S. Army for two years. He moved to Orlando with his wife in 1960 to pursue a career in Aeronautical Engineering at Martin Marietta, retiring after 35 years. He worked for an additional 3 years as a subcontractor to suppliers that provided sub-assemblies for Martin Marietta products lines.
He was dedicated to his family and lifelong passions for fishing, model trains, motorcycles, traveling, day trading, old war movies and harvest gardening. His zest for humor and laughter was contagious. Words cannot describe what his life meant and how impactful his presence on earth was. He was wise in business, strong in his faith and was always there for his family. He loved to live life to the fullest and shared life with those he cared for most. He was an incredible example to his children and grandchildren.
Services will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 12:00 Noon. Kenneth will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
