Kenneth Merton McCoig, 81, of Paisley, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, to the late Kenneth Watt McCoig and Marjorie Georgina Ingham, he and his late wife, Jane moved to Orlando in 1979 from North Vasselboro, Maine, eventually retiring in Paisley, FL. Kenneth was a MM1 serving in the US Navy on the submarine USS Sennet (SS-408) during the Vietnam era. Following his time in the military, Kenneth received his Civil Engineering degree and earned Professional Engineer licenses to practice in multiple states. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Astor, FL. Kenneth and his wife, Jane were foster parents for over 16 years. He is survived by his 4 sons, Karl Peterson, Deltona, FL, Kenny McCoig, Apopka, FL, Joseph McCoig, Belleville, MI, John McCoig, Warren, MI; 4 daughters, Michele McCoig, Switzerland, Kathryn McCoig, Bath, ME, Anne Marie McCoig, Paisley, FL, Tiffany Mason, Paisley, FL; sister, Joan Yeboah of Biggs, CA; many grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gary McCoig. Military graveside services will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
