Kenneth William Carpenter, 62, of Eustis, passed away Monday, May 11, 2020. Born in Leesburg, Florida, he was a lifelong resident of Lake County. He was a Senior Vice President & Senior Trust Officer at United Southern Bank. Ken was actively involved in the local community. He was on the Board of Directors for AdventHealth Waterman, Board of Directors and former Board Chair for Cornerstone Hospice Foundation, Board of Directors and former President of the Lake Eustis Area Chamber of Commerce, former Board Member and Chair of the North Lake County Hospital District Board, member of over 30 years of the Rotary Club of Lake County Golden Triangle (formerly Rotary Club of Eustis); member of Leadership Lake County, Eustis Police & Eustis Fire Departments Pension Boards, a coach for many years for Eustis Little League and a staunch supporter of the University of Florida Athletics. He was predeceased by his father, Stanley W. Carpenter and his sister, Cynthia Grady. Ken is survived by his wife of 38 years, Julie Carpenter, Eustis, FL; son, Kerry Carpenter, Tampa, FL; daughter, Haley Carpenter, Eustis, FL; mother, Gail K. Hampy, Eustis, FL; sister, Cathy Clark, Ponce Inlet, FL; as well as numerous nieces & nephews. All of Ken's friends are encouraged to come celebrate Ken's life on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Church, 890 Abrams Road, Eustis, FL. Ken's family, friends, former and present clients will come together to remember and celebrate a wonderful native son of Central Florida. It's time for all of us to pause and share love to remember a man who loved and appreciated family and community. Florida is still in Phase 2 of the June 5, 2020 COVID-19 Executive Order for social meeting. We are thankful for the lifting of some restrictions and remind everyone to meet with personal safety in mind.
