Julia Ann Friar Owens McCrary- born November 1, 1922 in Columbus, Ga., went to be with our heavenly father on Sunday, March 25, 2012. Julia, of Mount Dora, was a loving wife, mother, grand, great and great-great grandmother now resides with our Lord and Savior at the age of 89. She’s pre-deceased by two children, Bobby Friar, Lake City, Fl. and Virginia (McCrary) Becker, Ga. She is survived and adored by her husband of 20 years, John C. McCrary, Sr., Mt. Dora, 3 children, Barbara (Fred) Richards, Eustis; Billy (Anna) Friar, Lake City; Johnny (Ann) Friar, Jacksonville and 3 children by marriage, John (Crystal) McCrary, Jr.; Bill (Cheryl) McCrary, both in Tx. and Dan (Lynn) McCrary, Calif.; 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and also one brother Ray (Elaine) Adams, Jacksonville, FL. Prior to moving to Mt. Dora, Julia lived in Lake City and worked for many years at the State Exchange Bank and eventually retired from Barnett Bank of Lake City. Julia & John are members of Grace Baptist Church, Eustis. She was affectionately known by her loved ones as “GG” since she said she was too young to be called a great grandmother. Her favorite hobbies were visiting with family & friends always with a smile on her face & a funny joke to share and going to thrift shops & yard sales finding the deal of the day. The family will receive friends at Harden-Pauli Funeral Home, 1617 S. Bay St., Eustis on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 between 5:30PM to 8:00PM. Services will be conducted at Grace Baptist Church, 19650 SR 44, Eustis, FL on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 10:00AM followed by graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery in Eustis.
