Josephine Garofono

Josephine Garofono, 85, of Mount Dora, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018. Born in Val Guarnera, Sicily, Italy she moved to Mount Dora in 2000 from Altamonte Springs, Florida. She was an assembly worker for Siemans, a member of both the Italian-American Club and St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mount Dora. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jack D. Garofono of Mount Dora, FL; son, Jack Joseph (Shannon) Garofono of Leesburg, FL; brother, Tony Scarlata, Italy, 2 sisters, Ninetta Scarlata, Italy, Maria Scarlata, Italy; sister-in-law, Frances Scarlata of Rochester, NY, 3 grandchildren, Morgantina Garofono, Jack Ryan Garofono, Alayna Garofono; great-grandchild, Luke Streeter. Graveside services will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 10:00 AM.
