John Winslow, 88, of Tavares, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he moved to the Golden Triangle area in 1986 from Cleveland. He was a Teacher and taught at Eustis Middle School from 1986 through 1995. John was a member of the Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Leesburg, FL. John was a great handyman, and worked with the church work group on Thursday mornings building ramps for Handicap Access. He also served the church by visiting members that were ill or hospitalized, and volunteered with the Lake County Jail Ministry, and with his Therapy dog Joujou. He was an avid Cleveland Browns Football Fan, and he loved cats, dogs and infant children and they also loved him. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Fran Winslow of Tavares, FL; son, Michael Winslow of Tavares, FL; daughter, Valerie Ann Bartels of Granger, IN; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brother, Paul, and by his 4 sisters, Emily, Anne, Bessie and Mary. Memorial services will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 1:00 PM.
