John W. "Chip" Scharnhorst Jr.

John W. "Chip" Scharnhorst, Jr., 64, of Leesburg, passed away Monday, August 15, 2011. Born in Wichita, Kansas, he moved to Leesburg in 1981 from San Diego, CA. He was a General Contractor and was a member of First Assembly of God, Eustis. Chip served in the Navy during Vietnam. He is survived by his wife, Trudy S. Scharnhorst, Leesburg, FL; 2 sons, Jeff Rogers, Umatilla, FL, John W. Scharnhorst, III, Kingston, AR; sister, Cody Jelsovsky, Spring Valley, CA; 5 grandchildren. Services will be held at First Assembly of God, Eustis on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to First Assembly of God, 2024 South Grove Street, Eustis, FL 32726, in Chip's name.
