Rev. John M. Brackman Sr.

Rev. John Morris Brackman, Sr., 88, of Mount Dora, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018. Born in Emory, Virginia, he served as a United Methodist Pastor and retired Pastor for 60 years. He pastored Gracewood United Methodist and Harmony Grove United Methodist Churches in Georgia. In Florida, he pastored Zellwood United Methodist, Apalachicola United Methodist, Hendricks United Methodist, (Jacksonville), First United Methodist, (Eustis), Aloma United Methodist, (Winter Park), First United Methodist, (Brandon), Lake Wales United Methodist, Lake Placid United Methodist and Olde Mill Stream Church, (Umatilla). He served 2 years of evangelism at Francis Asbury, and served as a trustee for Asbury College for 18 years. John is survived by his son, John Brackman, Jr., Orlando, FL; daughter, Beverly Brackman Lorenz and husband Blake Lorenz, Orlando, FL; 2 brothers, Emory Brackman, Georgia, Julian Brackman, also of Georgia; 3 grandchildren, J. Blake Lorenz, Suzanna Ferreira, Laura Lorenz; 4 great-grandchildren, Parker, Liam, Summer and Lawson. Services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Eustis on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Grand Island Cemetery, Grand Island. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Sunday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 PM.
