John R. Barcroft

John R. Barcroft, 93, of Tavares, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he moved to Tavares in 1991 from Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was a physicist with the US Department of Energy and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Tavares. John served in the US Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean L. Barcroft, Tavares, FL; 2 sons, Duane Barcroft, Tavares, FL, Michael (Brenda) Barcroft, Travelers Rest, SC; daughter, Carolyn E. (Rosendo) Evaro, Rock Hill, SC; sister, Jeanette Freyburger, Penny Farms, FL; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, David A. & Neil D. Barcroft. Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Tavares on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. The family will receive friends at the Church prior to the service from 10:00 till 11:00 AM. Memorial donations may be made to Hidden Treasure Christian School, 500 West Lee Road, Taylors, SC 29687.
