Jimmy Roy Phillips, 69, of Sorrento, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Born in Eustis, FL to parents, J.T. and Martha Phillips, Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Lake County. He served in the National Guard and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during Vietnam. Jimmy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Dora, where he was a member of the Choir and worked with the Church Missions. Jimmy was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by Wife, Susan H. Phillips; Daughters, Cathryn (Frank) Phillips of Mount. Plymouth, FL and Donna (Craig) Rogers of Orange Park, FL; Brother, Harold Phillips of Mount Dora, FL; Sister, JoAnn Lovering of Debary, FL; grandchildren Emily Ann Phillips, Abigail Lynn Phillips, Megan Elizabeth Rogers and Nicholas Payne Rogers; nephew, Brian Brumley; and numerous cousins, extended family and friends. Please join the family in a Celebration of Life Service at First Baptist Church, Mount Dora on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 10:00 AM.
