Jayne E. Brackman

Jayne E. Brackman, 80, of Grand Island, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011. Born in Camden, New Jersey, she lived in Eustis from 1968-1977 while her husband was Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Eustis. They retired to Grand Island in 1995. She was a very devoted Pastor's wife, she also taught school and was librarian at Eustis Elementary School. Jayne graduated from Asbury College in 1952 and later served as the alumni president for Asbury University, Wilmore, KY. She was very active in the ministry at Old Mill Stream Park and served on the board for the Grand Island Cemetery. Jayne was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eustis. She is survived by her husband, Rev. John M. Brackman (Former Pastor of First United Methodist Church, Eustis, Aloma United Methodist Church, Winter Park and many others); daughter, Beverly Elaine Brackman (Blake) Lorenz, Orlando, FL; son, John Brackman, Jr., Winter Garden, FL; 2 brothers, Richard Hatfield, Escondido, CA, Charles Hatfield, Peoria, IL; grandson, Jonathan Blake (Serenity) Lorenz; 2 granddaughters, Suzanna (Felipe) Ferreira, Laura Elizabeth Lorenz and many loved nieces and nephews. Services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Eustis on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Grand Island Cemetery, Grand Island. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM.
