James R. "Jim" Smith

James R. "Jim" Smith, 84, of Clermont, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017. Born in Trenton, Tennessee, he moved to Eustis in 1979 from Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He was a Master Sergeant in US Air Force and was a member of the Lake Saunders Baptist Church, Tavares. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #172; Shrine Temple at Pensacola, Florida and York Rite Bodies: Surf Chapter #57 R.A.M., Gulf Council #29 R. & S.M. and St. Elmo #42 K.T. all of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis M. Smith of Clermont, FL; daughter, Lorrie J. Nelson of Maryville, TN; step-daughter, Linda C. Pfannerstill of Eustis, FL; 3 step-sons, Len (Butch) Nelson of Brazoria, TX, Douglas A. Fields of Douglasville, GA, Michael M. Fields of Elkridge, MD; brother, Larry J. Smith of Milan, TN; sister, Peggy J. Smith of Humboldt, TN; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Lake Saunders Baptist Church, Tavares on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Tuesday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 PM.
