James Darwin Gilmer Sr.

James D. Gilmer, 54, of Umatilla, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023. Born to the late William & Caroline (Ward) Gilmer in Orlando, Florida, he moved to Umatilla in 2014 from Jonesville, Virginia. He was a Technician for Sears. He is survived by his wife, Tina L. Gilmer of Umatilla, FL; son, James Darwin Gilmer, II, of Pensacola, FL; daughter, Taylor Renee Gilmer of Ocala, FL; brother, Ronald Gilmer of New Smyrna Beach, FL; granddaughters, Kaylee Marie Gilmer and Nevaeh Grace Gilmer; niece, Cheyenne Gilmer; nephews, Cody Gilmer and Austin Gilmer as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Join us in celebrating the life and memory of James Darwin Gilmer, Sr., Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Marsh Park Boat Ramp, Eustis, FL located at Yale Retreat Road and CR 452. Directions are easy on google. Gathering at Marsh Park will honor James' love of Lake Yale and fishing. He frequently launched his boat from this ramp.
