James Joseph Backer Jr., 75, of Mount Dora, FL, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022. Born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, he moved to Mount Dora in 1987 from Glen Gardner, NJ. He was a Driver in the lumber industry. James served in the Army during Vietnam. He is survived by his loving wife, Roseanna Backer of Mount Dora, FL; daughter, Melissa Elizabeth Verno of Tavares, FL; son, Adam Kachmar Backer of Tennessee; Daughter Holly Renee Montz of Eustis, FL; 2 sisters; Judy Reynolds of NJ, Edie McCullough of PA; and 2 Grandsons, Christian and Austin Montz. James is predeceased by father, James Backer Sr. and mother, Anne Beers Backer. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice.
