Jackie (Jack) Lee Bumgarner, 74, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023. Born in Charleston, West Virginia, he moved to Central Florida in 1972. While he had many different jobs, from the Orlando Sentinel to Mears Transportation, he was a Musician at heart, talented beyond measure and music was his passion. He played in several blues bands in the area and was a well respected keyboard player amongst his peers. Jack enjoyed playing music, spending time with his grandsons, time with friends and family, golf, the beach, Disney, Seaworld and a good meal. To know him was to love him and his easy going spirit will be sorely missed. He is predeceased by his Parents, Henry and Annebelle (Slater) Bumgarner. Jackie is survived by his Daughter, Steffini (Bumgarner) Matthews, his Son, Jeffrey Bumgarner, his Grandsons, Ben and Chris, along his two Brothers, Dana Bumgarner and Kenny Bumgarner and his sister Tina Bumgarner and their respective families. A celebration of his life will be held on April 30, 2023 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Sawgrass Grove Square, 766 Marilee Place, The Villages, FL 34785 - Bobby Blackmon and the B3 Band are dedicating this gig to Jack - he has been playing with Bobby since 2005 and honoring him could not be done in any better way. Memorial donations may be made to Music Will (musicwill.org/donate) - this program helps kids and teachers keep music alive in public schools and has impacted schools in Lake County Florida where Jack lived for many years.
