Jack Tichenor, Jr., 77, of Parrish, FL passed away at home surrounded by his family after a battle with cancer. A native of Florida, Jack was born in Leesburg, growing up in Yalaha. After graduating from Leesburg High School, Jack went to Southern Technology Institute in Marietta, GA and received an AA degree in Mechanics. Jack went on to the University of Florida and graduated with a 4.0 average in Agriculture and a Masters in Mechanized Agriculture. Jack then started his career, putting his education to good use. Jack retired from UF/IFAS Extension Service. After retiring, Jack became avid in collecting, restoring and exhibiting vintage John Deere Tractors. He, and his wife Toni, enjoyed traveling/camping at many tractor shows. Jack and Toni met many long-lasting friends along the way. Jack was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Bradenton, FL. He also enjoyed gospel music and attending gospel sings. Putting God first in his life and family was his first love. Jack was preceded in death by his parents L.P. Jack and Mary Moore Tichenor. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Toni Tichenor of Parrish, FL; daughter, Margo (Kevin) Bouchillon of Winchester, VA; son, Andy Tichenor of Denver, CO; brother, Jim (Barbara) Tichenor of Ocala, FL; 7 grandchildren, Marcus (Kerris), Colin (Esther), Hannah (Charlie), Andilyn (Dillon), Alayna, Drew and Alyssa; 4 great-grandchildren, Tanner, Brynn, Leah and Abby; nephew, Robert (Nicole), 2 great-nephews, Brody and Connor of Katy, TX and lots of extended family, friends and church family. A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 2:00 PM.
