Henry Fowler Purvis, 93, of Umatilla, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022. Born in Eustis, Florida, he graduated from Leesburg High School Class of 1945 and was a lifelong resident of Lake county. Henry founded Purvis Plumbing, Eustis in 1962 and operated it until his retirement in 1983. He was one of the founding charter members of the Lake County Boys Ranch. Henry found great joy in gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time with family. In his younger days, he enjoyed square dancing. He served his country in the US Army during Korea. He is survived by his son, H. Scott (Karen) Purvis, Umatilla, FL, 2 grandsons, Matthew James Purvis, Todd Henry Purvis; granddaughter, Kristi Purvis; 2 great-grandchildren, Hallee Nicole Purvis, Henry Lee Purvis; loving companion, Judy Bryan, Umatilla, FL. Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Purvis; son, Mark Douglas Purvis; grandson, Michael Purvis. Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Umatilla on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Umatilla. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 till 2:00 PM.
