Surrounded by his loving family, Henry G. Ankenmann, Jr. passed peacefully from this life on October 11, 2024, at the age of 92 years.
Hank was born at home in Freeport, Long Island, New York. A graduate of Freeport High School, he followed in his father’s footsteps to build a successful career in the auto mechanic industry as a transmission specialist. Henry owned businesses in both New York and Florida, including Lakeside Village Mobile Home Park in Hobe Sound, FL. He was a man of many talents, enjoying the satisfaction of working with his hands as a builder, plumber, electrician, teacher, and furniture craftsman. He enjoyed diagnosing and solving problems and was always using these talents to help others.
Married for 70 years, Hank cherished spending time with his beloved wife, family, and friends. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, his three daughters; Janice (Curtis); Nancy (Mark) King and Michele (John). He leaves his legacy of five successful grandchildren; Toby, Jace, Danielle, Melanya & Katerina, and his adoring great-grandchildren; Emeric, Evelyn, Adelaide, Katie, and Owen. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Gail (& Jerry), many nieces, nephews, and close lifetime friends and their children who were always treated as family.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Henry and Eugenie Ankenmann, his sister Marguerite (Tom), his brother-in-law Edward (Sue, Bunny) and many dear, family & close friends.
He will be sorely missed, though always present in our hearts and minds.
In loving memory of Henry, a Celebration of Life and Memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 12:30 pm, at The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 251 East Lake Brantley Drive, Longwood, Fl 32779
