Harriette Elizabeth Thigpun Truman, 75, of Ocala, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, she moved to Central Florida from Lakemoor, IL in 2010. Harriette and her deceased husband: Allen C. Truman lived at Altoona, FL from 1974-1982 following Allen's retirement from the U.S. Navy. She was a retired hairdresser and of the Christian faith. Harriette was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society. She loved playing Bingo and all card games. Harriette was an exceptional Poker player and competed in many Central Florida tournaments. Her smile, laughter, patience, and unconditional love of people made her stand out in a crowd. Adults respected her positive outlook and children were drawn to her sincere love and warm embrace. Harriette is survived by her daughters: Anita C. Truman Hutchinson of Grand Island, FL and Sherry R. Truman (Patrick) White of Carol Stream, IL; loving companion: Danny D. Tunnell of Ocala; sister: Betty M. (James) Wade of Albany, GA; Grandsons: Joshua Allen (Valerie) Hartnett and Eric John Hartnett; and Great-Granddaughter: Maisie Hartnett. She was predeceased by her parents: Thurston J. and Mary Elizabeth Rhodes Thigpun; husband: Allen Curtis Truman; and her brother: Thurston M. Thigpun. Visitation for friends will be at the Harden/Pauli Chapel on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 12:00 Noon-2:00 PM with services beginning at 2:00 PM by Rev. Brooks Braswell of First Baptist Church of Umatilla officiating. Private interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
