Gertrude M. Gervais, 91, of Bradenton formerly of Grand Island, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Born in Strong, Maine, she moved to Grand Island in 1997 from Rochester, NH. She was a Teacher for the Rochester, NH Public School System from 1974-1982 and was a member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Eustis. Gertrude was the hospitality greeter of Grand Island Resort while living there. Formerly, she was the Eucharistic Minister and member of Lady Sodality Order of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Rochester, NH. She was a hairdresser and cosmetologist from 1938-1942 in Portland, Farmington & Phillips, Maine. Gertrude is survived by her 2 sons, Rodney A. Gervais, Altamonte Springs, FL, Ronald C. Gervais, Bradenton, FL; daughter, Corinne L. DeCourt, Berwick, ME; 2 brothers, Franklin Mitchell, Inverness, FL, Richard Mitchell, Hollis, NH; sister, Marion Bubar, Newport, ME; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great-grandchild.
