Gerald E. Passon II, “Jay” age 83, of Leesburg, Florida, formerly of Tipp City, Ohio went home to be with the Lord, Monday, May 22, 2023. Born in Greenville, Ohio to the late Gerald E. and Cora May {Wood} Passon Sr. Jay loved his home town of Tipp City where he graduated from Tippecanoe High School, Class of 1957. Jay was a Tinsmith for General Motors and retired from DELCO Moraine in the late 90’s. He was a past member of the Tipp City Jaycee’s, the American Legion Post 586 and Eagles Aerie 2201 and a former member of the Vandalia Baptist Temple and current member of Midway Baptist Church, Leesburg, FL. He proudly served for his country in the United States Air Force Reserves and was activated during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He and his wife Bertie moved to Florida in 2000 to escape the cold winters. He enjoyed fishing, coin collecting and participating in his church and hometown activities. Above all, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Jay is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alberta “Bertie” {Stahl} Passon, Leesburg, FL; son, Jeffrey “Scott” Passon, Dayton, OH; brother. William (Terry) Passon of Franklin, Tennessee; sister, Sherry (Don) Wray, Tipp City, OH; aunt, Gail Fair, Muncie, IN. Also survived are Jay and Bertie’s honorary adopted children; Tabitha {Hicks} Lee, Arcanum, OH, Kristina {Hicks} Roe, West Liberty, KY, Nicki Hicks, Bakerville, NC, Latasha {Mullins} Arguedas and Josh Mullins, Dayton, OH. He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher, K. Passon; sister, Sally Thompson, and “adopted” daughter Brittany Gunter. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 11:00 AM at Vandalia Baptist Temple, 724 Helke Rd, Vandalia, OH 45377. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City, Ohio. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Jay’s memory to the Vandalia Baptist Temple or Midway Baptist Church, Leesburg, FL.
