Gerald "Gerry" Bernard Huntenburg, 63, of Eustis, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 after courageously battling colorectal cancer. Although born in Saint Petersburg, Florida, Gerry spent his formative years growing up in Daytona Beach. He and his wife, Liz, met while attending Florida Atlantic University and raised their three daughters in the Palm Beach County area. For 33 years, Gerry was a postal employee, retiring in 2010 as Postmaster of Lake Worth. For over 25 years, Gerry was umpire for boys and girls little league. One of his proudest experiences was umpiring at the 2007 Girls Softball Little League World Series in Portland, Oregon. He also enjoyed working in the yard, kayaking, tending to the wild birds, and spending time with his family. He had a helping heart and volunteered his time at St. Luke Clinic in Eustis and giving tax aid with AARP. Gerry was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Mount Dora and was strong in his Faith. Gerry is predeceased by his Parents, Bernard and Joan Huntenburg; and by his Brother, John Huntenburg. He is survived by his Wife of 41 years, Elizabeth "Liz" Ann Mayer Huntenburg of Eustis, FL; 3 Daughters, Beth Rose Huntenburg of Simpsonville, SC, Theresa Marie (Andrew) Starnes of Chattanooga, TN, and Angela Elizabeth (Paul) Russell of Portsmouth, VA; 2 Sisters, Mary Huntenburg of Daytona Beach, FL and Martha (Richard Rempe) Huntenburg of Naples, FL; 4 Grandchildren, Isaac Robertson, Jackson Starnes, Katie Russell and Lucy Russell. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mount Dora on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 9:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM.
