George W. Potter

George W. Potter, 72, of Tavares, FL died on Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Born in Ashland, NY, he moved to Tavares in the early 60's from Upstate, New York. He was the Owner & Operator of Potter's Citgo in downtown Tavares and Potter's Automotive on Old 441 in Tavares. George was a charter member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Eustis and was a Boy Scout Troop Leader. He is survived by his wife, Celia L. Potter of Tavares, FL; 2 sons, Michael (Shari) Potter of Wildwood, FL, Bruce (Elaine) Potter of Tavares, FL; daughter, Kimberly Potter of Tavares, FL; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at First Missionary Baptist Church, Eustis on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Tavares Cemetery, Tavares. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778.
