George Michael Smith

George Michael Smith, 62, of Grand Island, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, he moved to the Central Florida area in 1969 from Norfolk, Virginia. He worked in banking for his entire career of 40+ years. Mike attended Grand Island Baptist Church and helped plant Hometown Baptist Church, Leesburg. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Rhonda A. Davis, Grand Island, FL; son, George Samuel (Astrid) Smith, Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Rebekah L. (Shea) Holubar, Alameda, CA; sister, Jo Anne Griffith, Tavares, FL; brother-in-law, Donnie Davis, Paoli, IN; niece, Mackenzie Horton, Jacksonville, FL; 3 nephews, John (Ashley) Davis, Grand Island, FL, Dustin (Kylie) Davis, Paoli, IN, Dylan Davis, Jasper, IN; 3 great-nephews, Sean Griffin, Grand Island, FL, Korben Davis, Grand Island, FL, Blane Davis, Paoli, IN. A celebration of life service will be held at Grand Island Baptist Church, Grand Island on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2:00 PM till 3:00 PM.
