George Kent Reedy, Jr., 68, of Port St. Lucie, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018. He was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky to the late George Kent Reedy, Sr. & Carrie Howard Reedy. Kent served a distinguished career in the US Air Force as a pilot and commander, retiring as a Master Aviator and Lieutenant Colonel in 1998. Following his military career, he worked as a government contractor. In 2000 he and his family moved to Europe where he worked for the Air Force as a Civil Service employee and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University as an instructor until 2011. He returned to the States and worked at the Pentagon until he retired in 2015. Kent is survived by his daughter, Kelsey Chea Reedy; 3 sisters, Barbara Atkins, Rosemary Mahlkuch, Linda Niemeyer; and loving companion Vickie Diaz. Services will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis, FL, on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM. The family will welcome friends at the Funeral Home prior to the service from 9:00 till 10:00 AM. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims.
