George P. Garrett, 92, of Leesburg, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he moved to Leesburg in 1990 from Pittsburgh. He spent his working career in the steel fabrication business, where he worked at the American Bridge Co. and was VP of Pittsburgh Bridge & Iron in Rochester and later owned his own business, G.P. Garrett & Assoc., Inc. After retiring he was an avid dancer, fisherman and woodworker. George served in the US Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Bernice Garrett; 2 sons, Vince (Judy) Garrett, Dennis (Cathy) Garrett; 3 daughters, Nancy (Jim) Twombly, Kathy (Chuck) LeClaire, Janice (Joe) Quattrone; 2 step-sons, Michael (Joy) Meyer, Scott (Christina) Meyer; step-daughter, Linda (Ty) Caine; numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Rosemarie Bohn Garrett and son James Lee Garrett. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 2-4 PM.
