Gail (Johnston) Shelmandine, 75, of Sunlake Estates, Grand Island, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013. Born in Bessemer, Alabama, she moved to Grand Island in 2001 from Massena, New York. She was a Loan Officer and was a member of the Sunlake Christian Fellowship. Gail is survived by her husband of 55 years, Raymond S. Shelmandine, Grand Island, FL, 3 daughters, Sherry Lynn Kline, Syracuse, NY, Kathy Anne (Bruce) Thompson, Fort Walton Beach, FL, Marsha Rae (Ray) Dillabough, Syracuse, NY; brother, Lawrence (Barbara) Johnston, Rock Creek, AL; sister, Patty Johnston (Dwight) Lawson, Bessemer, AL; 6 grandchildren, Joshua Kline, Kyrie Kline, Evan Thompson, Justin Parow, Tyler Parow & Chase Thompson. A memorial service will be held at SunLake Estates Clubhouse, Grand Island on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Chicago, IL 60611 or to the Sunlake Volunteer Fire Department/First Responders.
