Pastor Franklin D. Stephens, 82, of Eustis, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016. He was born in Marion, Illinois to Jacob and Ruth Stephens. He moved to Eustis in 1973 to minister at the Eustis Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Stephens was ordained in the Church of the Nazarene and served as a church plant and restart Pastor. After coming to Eustis as a restart pastor, he remained at this church for the remainder of his pastoral service and retired in 2006. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was a member of the NRA. Pastor Stephens was also an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling at the Break Point Alley and AMF Leagues. Pastor Stephens is survived by his wife, Mildred Stephens of Eustis, FL and his 4 children: James Stephens of Jacksonville, FL; Jeanne Morgan of New Port Richey, FL; Rebecca Ostic of Umatilla, FL; and Daniel Stephens of Waterford, IL. He is also survived by his brothers: Walter Stephens and Lester Stephens of Pekin, IL. Sisters: Mildred Clark of Normal, IL and Helena Bullock of Pekin, IL. 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at the Eustis Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis. Memorial donations may be made to Eustis Church of the Nazarene, notation: NCM-Haiti. Pastor Stephens had a passion for missions and the family requests that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made for Nazarene Compassionate Missions-Haiti to help build churches.
