First Sergeant William Asa Reed, US Army Retired, 84, of Eustis, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017. Born in Paris, Kentucky, he moved to Central Florida in 1969. He was a Vietnam veteran in the US Army and served in the 101st Airborne. After retiring from the Army, he worked and retired from Sea World, Orlando. Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mount Dora. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Connie Ann Reed, Eustis, FL; son, William Terry (Donna) Reed, Oakland, FL; 2 daughters, Carla Elizabeth Brooks, Eustis, FL, Mary Michelle (Dan) Gentry, Summerfield, FL; 2 brothers, Elmer Reed, Cynthiana KY, Bob Reed, Seaview, WA; sister, Geneva Long, North Middletown, KY; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Raymond Reed. Military graveside services will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 2070, New Port Richey, FL 34656.
