Ethel J. White, 77, of Dona Vista, passed away Monday, August 5, 2013. Born in Coshocton County, Ohio, she moved to Lake County in 1966 from Coshocton, Ohio. She was a Nurses Aid for Mount Dora Health Care Center for many years before retiring. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Tavares. Ethel is survived by her husband, Tom White, Dona Vista; 4 sons, Leroy Varns, Bassville Park, FL, Roger Varns, Umatilla, FL, Phillip Varns, Eustis, FL, Rodney Varns, Galena, KS; 2 daughters, Violet Varns, Lady Lake, FL, Diana Beckett, Quaker City, OH; 2 step-sons, Darrell White, Dona Vista, FL, David White, Mount Dora, FL; 3 step-daughters, Darla Orre, Duncan, OK, Sharon White, Cadillac, MI, Lori Varns, Galena, KS; brother, Clark Hawthorne, Dona Vista, FL; 2 sisters, Gail Bussard, Newcomerstown, OH; Margaret Smith, Fresno, OH; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great-grandchild. Services will be held at Liberty Baptist Church, Tavares on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis.
