Ethel Irene Ryan

Ethel Irene Ryan, 87, of Eustis, Florida, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023. Born in Pleasant Grove, Pennsylvania to the late Harry and Wilma Phillips, she moved to Eustis in 1979 from Dumfries, Virginia. Prior to Ethel's retirement she was an administrative assistant for Lake Plumbing in Eustis and later at the First Baptist Church of Tavares, Florida. Ethel was a 40-year member and former President of the Eustis Historical Museum. She was attending First Baptist Church of Umatilla, Florida. She is survived by her 2 sons, Robert D. (Tammy) Ryan of Tavares, FL, Michael T. (Delta) Ryan of Lakeland, FL; daughter, Deborah Ann (Rick) Smith of New Port Richey, FL; brother, Donald Wayne Phillips of Washington, PA; sister, Helen (Jack) Grandel of Washington, PA, 6 grandchildren, Alesha (Steve) Howard, Amber (Corey) Gamble, Allison Smith, Erik Smith, Heather Ryan and Juliana Ryan; 3 great-grandchildren, Kayden King, Nathaniel Ryan and Kenzie Gamble; and by numerous extended family and friends. Ethel was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. Ryan; daughter, Joanna Lynn; and brother, Herbert Phillips. Services will be held at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell Florida, where she will be forever reunited with her husband Robert.
