Emory Lamar Gnann, 78, of Eustis, passed away Tuesday morning, July 10, 2012. Born in Sanford, Florida July 16 1933 as a 4th generation Floridian, he lived his entire life in Lake County. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He began his career as a Grocer with Story Brothers, then Eustis Food Center, was Manager of Thriftway in Eustis and owned and operated Gnann's Jiffy stores in Mount Dora and Eustis. He later was a supervisor of Lake Yale Baptist Assembly. Emory was a member of Bay Street Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was the 1st & 2nd King Beard at the Washington's Birthday Festival in Eustis. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kay Adams Gnann, Eustis, FL; son, Jeffrey L. (Missy) Gnann, Marianna, FL; 2 daughters, Karen G. (Alan) Mielke, Eustis, FL, Becky G. (Todd) Troyer, London, OH; brother, Marvin W. Gnann, Golden Valley, AZ; 10 grandchildren: Jared, Whitney, Jordan, Logan, Kayla, Dalton, Lauren, Brady, Levi, and Jenna, and 4 great-grandchildren: Ani, Kale, Emory, and Liam, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, CM & Lucille Gnann; brothers, CM Jr., Bud, Larry; sister, Betty and grandchild Haylie Marie. Services will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6-8 PM.
