Emma Leona Van Valkenburg, 89, of Mount Dora, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015. Born in Monroe, New York, she moved to Mount Dora in 1974 from Miramar, FL. She was a Nursing Assistant and a School Bus Driver prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church and attended services at the Garden of Life Chapel at Waterman Village of Mount Dora. Emma enjoyed participating with the Waterman Village Bell Choir and also the Waterman Village Theatre Company. She is survived by her Daughter and Son-In-Law, Ronda Van Valkenburg-Miller and Son-in-law, Geoffrey E. Miller; Son and Daughter-In-Law, Neal Van Valkenburg and Barbara Poalillo-Van Valkenburg; Granddaughter and Grandson-In-Law, Michele R. Van Valkenburg-Quinn and Ryan Quinn; Great-Grandchildren - Romus (Romie) C. Edenfield IV, Joseph R. Quinn and Jonathan P. Quinn. Memorial services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, Eustis on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 2:00 PM, and also at the Garden of Life Chapel at Waterman Village, Mount Dora Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 10:30 AM. Memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice (cshospice.org), National Breast Cancer Foundation (nationalbreastcancer.org) or to The Children's Heart Foundation(childrensheartfoundation.org).
