Elmer "Bud" Taylor, 93, of Mount Dora,went to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 6, 2018. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he moved to Central Florida in 1979 from Fort Lauderdale, FL. He was an engineer working for AT&T Communications. Bud was a Marine Corp Veteran serving during WWII and Korea and also was with the occupation forces in Nagaski, Japan. Bud served his Lord in many ways. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Dora, he was deeply involved in the ministry to the FL Baptist Children’s Home at Lakeland, FL, He served with the North American Mission Board as a Non-Funded Missionary for 30 years: his final assignment was with pastors in Canada. Bud was also a volunteer at Florida Hospital Waterman since 2003. He is survived by his Wife, Norma B. Taylor, Mount Dora, FL; Daughters, Joanne Taylor of Mount Dora, FL and Sandra Howes, Eustis, FL and 6 Grandchildren and 12Great-Grandchildren and one on the way. Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Mount Dora on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM prior to the service. Military Funeral Rites will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell on Friday, January 12, 2018 @12:30 PM.
