Effie Lorene Thompson

Effie Lorene Thompson, 87, of Mount Dora, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017. Born in Nokesville, Virginia, she moved to Mount Dora in 1994 from Miami, Florida. She was a Homemaker and was Christian. Effie was a former active member of the Miami Boat Racing Association. She loved orchids, crocheting, organizing family history, scrap books and collecting and making ceramic items. She is survived by her son, Christian S. Thompson, Mount Dora, FL; 2 daughters, Linda L. Bates, Fredericksburg, VA, Terry Lyn Thompson, Mount Dora, FL; 3 brothers, Stewart Herndon, Micco, FL, Robert Herndon, Stuarts Draft, VA, Jerry Herndon, Martinsburg, WV; sister, Virginia Kidd, Virginia; 8 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Thompson and 2 daughters, Carol M. Phillips, Barbara Diane Thompson.
