Edward L. Derion, 87, of Grand Island, FL passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016. Born in Buffalo, New York, he moved to Grand Island in 1984 from Town of Tonawanda, NY. Ed was a Telephone Repair Dispatcher with New York Telephone and was an active hunter & fisherman who loved the ocean and cruise trips. He loved sports, especially basketball. Ed was a member of the Eustis Elks Lodge #1578 and St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Eustis. He served his country in the US Army. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elizabeth (Betty) L. Derion, Grand Island, FL; 3 daughters, Toniann Derion, Livermore, CA, Lisa-Marie (Scott) Wiesel, Boynton Beach, FL, Amy (Elton) Barnard, Suffolk, VA; 2 grandsons, Jeremy Mark, Nathan Edward; 2 step-grandchildren, Matthew, Alexis; and step-great-granddaughter, Maya. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Eustis on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 10:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Monday, February 29, 2016 from 1:00 till 3:00 PM.
