Douglas Jerry Yount, 55, of Eustis, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Born in St. Petersburg, Florida, he moved to Eustis in 1963. He was warehouse manager of Lake County Schools Maintenance Department for 27 years. He took his work seriously and admired his co-workers with much respect and high regard. He loved canoeing on Lake County waterways, hunting, dirt bike and sport bike riding. He loved the simple life of quality time spent with family and friends. He grew up surfing at the beach, playing Little League baseball in Eustis and then became a coach. He loved to watch all forms of racing whether it was MotoGP to stock cars to Indy cars. Doug was a selfless person and quick to take care of family and friends without hesitation. There was even a time when he went by the nickname of “MoPic," short for motion picture, because he thoroughly enjoyed videotaping family members and/or himself at times during outdoor activities and sporting events.
