Douglas E. Johnson Sr.

Douglas E. Johnson Sr., 89, of Eustis, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016. Born in Tupelo, MS, he moved to Lake County in 1967 from Waxahachie, TX . He was a horticulturist and nurseryman. Douglas served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a proud graduate of Mississippi State University. He was a member of the American Legion and of the Optimist Club. Douglas loved hunting, fishing and traveling the United States by motorhome. He is survived by his Wife, May Johnson of Eustis, FL; Sons, Douglas E. Johnson, Jr. of Ponce Inlet, FL, Philip D. Johnson of Mount Plymouth, FL and Rick Johnson of Mount Dora, FL; Daughter, Patricia Lynn Selph of Walnut Creek, CA; 7 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren. Services will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Eustis on Friday October 28, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778.
