Diane Dougherty Tyre, Grand Island, (Eustis) Florida went peacefully to heaven from Atlanta, GA surrounded by family on March 4, 2010. Diane was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Mark S. Dougherty. She was preceded in death by her parents and Brother Dr. Mark E. Dougherty. Diane is survived by her husband Glenn Tyre, and four children: Victoria (Robert) Gainey of Canton, GA; Sons William J. Wilkins of Ocala, FL; Mark W. (Lorie) Wilkins of McDonough, GA; Scott (Kelly) Tyre of Orlando, FL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Austin Gainey, Alex Gainey, Anna Belle Gainey, Jackson Wilkins, Spencer Wilkins, Bethany Tyre, Emily Tyre, seven grand horses, niece Francesca (Lee) Schinnerer of Chevy Chase, MD; two grand nieces, Eleanor Schinnerer, Claire Schinnerer; and many special friends. Diane grew up in Atlanta graduating from Washington Seminary (now Westminster), attended Stevens College, St. Louis MO. As a young person, Diane spent many vacation times in Eustis and established Eustis residency in 1959. Her emphasis in life was focused on God, Family, Friends, Love of Life, Love for her children’s friends and their school activities. She was a true professional Realtor, receiving Realtor Associate of the year award in 1981. A memorial service celebrating the life of Diane will be held at Harden-Pauli Funeral Chapel, 1617 South Bay Street, Eustis, FL 32726 on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be sent to Embracing Hospice at 8013 Majors Road, Cumming, GA 30041.
