David Reed Ashby, age 76, of Kissimmee, Florida, passed away on January 26, 2025. Born in Alameda, California, David embraced life as a proud Floridian for over 30 years.

David's commitment to service began at Kemper Military School in Boonville, Missouri, where he made lifelong connections as a member of the Old Boys of Kemper Alumni Association. His dedication to his country was evident during his time in the Army, serving bravely during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, David enjoyed a successful career as an automotive salesman before his retirement.

An active member of his community, David contributed significantly to the American Legion Post #10 in Kissimmee, where he held roles such as Riders Director, Sergeant at Arms, and Road Captain. He was also involved with the Florida chapter of the Patriot Guard Riders, reflecting his passion for honoring and supporting fellow veterans.

David is survived by his son, Sean Ashby of Orlando, Florida; his daughter, Christine French of Chuluota, Florida; and his brother, Richard (Linda) Ashby of San Diego, California as well as his four grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to celebrate David’s life.
