Darrell Ned Carter

Darrell Ned Carter, 74, of Umatilla, Florida, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Born in Kingsport, Tennessee, he moved to Florida in 1957. He was a Carpenter and Maintenance Supervisor for commercial greenhouses and was of Baptist faith. Darrell served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and whittling. He is survived by his Spouse, Kathryn "Kitty" Carter of Umatilla, FL, Son, Christopher (Bobbie) Carter of Sanford, FL, Daughter, Angela Shafar of Umatilla, FL, Brother, Gerald Carter of Sorrento, FL, Brother, Odel (Linda) Carter of Ridge Roost Gap, TN, Sister, Dorothy Graff of Waynesboro, VA, Grandchildren, Samantha, CJ, Austin, Mckinley, Sadie, Christine, Emma, Gavin and Kayla and 14 Great-Grandchildren. Services will be held at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Sunday, February 7, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Sorrento Cemetery, Sorrento. The family will receive friends from Noon till 2:00 PM prior to the Service. Arranged flowers may be sent, however potted plants are welcome as the family will plant a memorial garden in his name.
