Darrel E. "Spud" Meeves, 83, of Leesburg, FL, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013. Born in Bennington, Nebraska, he moved to Lake County, Florida in 2011 from Omaha, Nebraska. He was a Master Chief Petty Officer with the U.S. Coast Guard and served during Korea and Vietnam and was of Lutheran Faith. Mr. Meeves is predeceased by his Parents, Herman and Freida Meeves and Brothers, Leland and Merle Meeves. He is survived by his Wife of 61 years, Marilyn J. Meeves; 3 Daughters, Robin K. Austin of Tavares, FL, Kathy Axley (John) of Sarasota, FL and Terri A. Meeves of Leesburg, FL; Sister, Glenda Chapman of Omaha, NE; 2 Grandchildren, Nicole Krett and Jake Axley; 2 Great-Grandchildren Noah and Claire Krett; Many Nieces and Nephews; and Family Friend, Mary Meeves of Omaha, NE.
