Darlene DeBock

Darlene Joy DeBock entered heaven Friday, February 21, 2025 in the early morning. Darlene was also known as a mom, sister, niece, friend, Grammy Kid, and Aunt Kid. She was her sister's cohort in crime and the Ethel to her sister's Lucy. She was an inspiration and hero to many. Darlene had a sweet, gentle spirit, but could be fierce when you bothered with her family. Quiet until she knew you well, she could have a wicked sense of humor and be very sarcastic. Darlene had a passion for music. She played by ear, sang in several ladies' groups and mixed ensembles, and was a member of a church handbells group. She was also a Gators fan. Darlene had recently written a children's book about a dachshund and hoped to get it published soon. She was a member of Life Community Church in Eustis, FL. Darlene is preceded in death by her son, Brandon DeBock, and parents, John Robert Lovett and Martha Elberta Ivey. She leaves behind her sister, Debby Hunt (of Eustis); her daughter and son-in-law, Dori and Matt Byrd (of Tavares); her grandsons, Tyler and Eli Gatewood; her nephews and niece-in-laws, Mitch and Jennica Hunt (of Eustis) and Jeff and Asheligh Hunt (Austin, Texas); and her great-nephew, Ethan Hunt. She has several aunts and cousins whom she loved dearly. A celebration of life will be planned and announced at a later date.
