Danny R. Phelps, 70, of Tavares, FL died on Monday, November 2, 2009. Born in Ludlow, KY, he moved to Central Florida in 1979 from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was retired in 2001 as Lieutenant with the Umatilla Police Department. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Yvonne K. Phelps of Tavares, FL; son, Danny R. Phelps, Jr. of Umatilla, FL; 3 daughters, Geri Anne Redlinger of Deltona, FL, Deanna "Kim" Tower of Alpharetta, GA, Lynda Faye Florio of Lake Helen, FL; brother, Joseph G. Phelps of Eustis, FL; 2 sisters, Sandra K. Smith of Eustis, FL, Brenda S. Stabile of Eustis, FL; 12 grandchildren, Zach, Tyler, Nicholas, Grace, Racheal, Shawn, Danielle, David Jr., Tiffany, Brandon, Kelee & TJ; 1 great-grandchild, Kameryn. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia K. Phelps in 1971. Military graveside services will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell on Monday, November 9, 2009, at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Monday from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
