Daniel Cletis Browning, 74, of Tavares, passed away Monday, March 15, 2021, and his wonderful sense of humor and lively story-telling will be missed by all who knew him. Danny was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and lived for many years in Covington, Kentucky before making his home in Tavares in 1978. Danny was a proud Navy veteran and, after serving his country, he worked in various fields including real estate. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mount Dora, Golden Triangle Kiwanis Club, and the Knights of Columbus. Danny loved being outdoors, and especially enjoyed playing golf and scooting around in his golf cart. He delighted in karaoke, dancing, and making friends with everyone he met. This love of life shone through in his world travels. He visited Australia, Europe, the Caribbean, Alaska and more with his wife and daughter. Danny is survived by his wife, Mary S. LaMoreaux, Tavares, FL; daughter, Gwendolyn Browning, Tavares, FL; two sisters, Gloria Jean Browning, Union, KY; Pamela S. Schmied (Don), North Bend, OH; brother-in-law, Bruce Scherrer, Woodstock, GA. Danny was preceded in death by his brother Timothy W. Browning and his sister Janette M. Scherrer. Danny will be sorely missed by his many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and his pets, Annie, Johnny, El Gato, and Marcus. A memorial mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mount Dora on Monday, April 19, 2021 at 9:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis that evening from 5:30 - 6:30 PM, with a time of sharing & reflection beginning at 6:30 PM.
