Dale Johnson, 85, of Eustis, returned to his heavenly home October 3, 2017. Born in Greenock, Pennsylvania, he moved to Eustis in the mid 1940s, graduated from Eustis High School in 1949, and attended Florida State University where he received his Master's Degree. As Owner & Operator of SunAir Aviation, Leesburg, FL, Dale was an avid aviator and was awarded the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award, FAA’s highest honor for his more than 50 years of experience and excellence. Dale served as a faithful member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church, Eustis, and was a living example of Christ’s love, humility and service. Dale also was an active member of the Heart of Florida Barbershop Chorus, the Barbershop Harmony Society and the (AOPA) Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Eileen Johnson; 2 sons, Bob (Linda) Johnson of Eustis, Matthew (Tammi) Johnson of St. Louis, MO; daughter, Carol (Tom) Chanter of Orlando, FL; brother, Elmer Johnson of Tampa, FL; 2 sisters, Doris Crews of Eustis, Donna Boles of Orlando and 7 grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, Eustis on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 4:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Saturday evening from 6-8 PM. Private interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis.
