Constance Elaine Ellis Cowan, 69, of Eustis, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017. Born May 11, 1948 in Watertown, New York to the late Hartley and Ruth Lanfear Ellis, she attended Pulaski High School, Graduated 1966 with a GED from New York School. She later attended Christelle School of Cosmetology in Watertown, NY and the Watertown School of Commerce. She owned a beauty salon in Lacona, NY. On December 2, 1972, she married Spencer B. Cowan at Sandy Creek Baptist Church. She was a past member and matron of the Lake Ontario Chapter 124 of the Order of the Eastern Star, past secretary and member of Cable Trail VFW, member of the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church, past board member of Miss New York Scholarship Pageant, present member of the Miss Oswego City Scholarship Pageant. Mrs. Cowan was active in the Student Exchange Program (ASSE) and served as host family for two students, Anneli Krebo of Stockholm Sweden from 1985-1986 and Peter Steinwup of Höganäs, Sweden from 1987-1988. She also served as a backup family for the program. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Spencer B. Cowan, Eustis, FL; brother, Michael (Sue) Ellis; niece, Jennifer Ellis; 2 nephews, Michael Ellis, Teddy Ellis. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ted Ellis; Aunt, Beatrice E. Killiam. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 2:00 till 4:00 PM.
