Cody N. White, 27, of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021. Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Cody and his family moved to Eustis in 2000 from Margate, Florida. Cody graduated from Eustis High School Class of 2012. Being active with ROTC in high school, Cody joined the US Army following his graduation. Cody completed boot camp at Fort Benning, Georgia and deployed overseas to South Korea for a year, being enlisted until 2015. Cody ranked as an Army Specialist serving with the 19D Cavalry Scout, acting as the eyes and ears on the field, gathering information about enemy positions, vehicles, weapons, and activity with responsibilities of determining whether to call for reinforcements and when to order a retreat. With such information gathered, commanders can then make informed decisions about how to move troops and where and when to attack. Cody was awarded the following US Army medals and ribbons; National Defense service medal, Global war on terror service medal, Korea Defense service medal, Army service ribbon, Overseas service ribbon. After his honorable service in the US Army, Cody worked in the Deli Department for Publix at Woodland Center in Eustis. Cody loved Karate, earning his Black Belt, and enjoyed video games and attending MegaCon and Cosplay events. Cody is survived by his parents, John and Susan White, Grand Island, FL; 2 sisters, Krissy White, Leesburg, FL, Jacqueline Harlan, West Palm Beach, FL; grandparents, Carole Richard, Eustis, FL, Leonard and Mary White, Palm City, FL, and Maureen Danis, Boston, MA. A memorial service will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 11:30 AM, followed by a Patriot Guard escort and interment at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
