Chris Canon, 83, of Eustis, Florida passed away Monday, January 17, 2011. She was born on June 11, 1927 in Sebring, FL and graduated from Haines City High School. She was a Registered Nurse, graduating in 1950 from Gorden Keller School of Nursing in Tampa, FL She entered the United States Air Force and was Commissioned a First Lieutenant and assigned to Hunter AFB, Georgia. There, she met her future husband Gustave A. Canon. They were married in a little WWII Wooden Chapel at the Base and would have celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary this year. They were a close family, as most Service Families are. Travel and new places were common and brought them all closer together with much love and respect. She was a member of St. Mary’s of the Lakes Catholic Church for 38 years. She proudly maintained her Nursing License current through continuing education. She was employed by Waterman Hospital, Eustis, Florida from 1973-1985. She is survived by her loving husband, Lt. Colonel Gustave Anthony Canon, Eustis, Florida, brother Buddy Christopher and his wife Naomi, of Austin, Texas, brother Russell Christopher and his wife Billie Jean, of Panama City, Florida, brother Jerry Christopher and his wife Jeannie, of Lady Lake, Florida, daughter Sandra Anne Thibodeau and her husband Peter of Brandon, Florida, daughter Nancy Carol Manley and her husband David of Duluth, Georgia; grandchildren Canon Randolph Manley, Christopher Brown Manley, and Spencer David Manley, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
